James McLaughlin
Senior Vice President, Group Head
Jim is the Head of the Institutional Real Estate Group, overseeing KeyBank’s $14 billion on-balance sheet lending activity to institutionally sponsored owners of commercial and healthcare real estate, such as public and private REITs and private equity funds. In this role, he has overall responsibility for this business, including marketing, revenue generation, underwriting, capital allocation, credit quality/portfolio management, and management of the 60-person team. This also entails close collaboration with product partners in investment banking, commercial mortgage banking, syndicated finance, and commercial payments. Jim joined KeyBank in June 2004 as a Senior Banker with the Institutional Capital Group in Boston. Prior to joining KeyBank, he held various positions starting in 1999 within FleetBoston’s Structured Real Estate Group. Mr. McLaughlin received his BA in Economics in 1986 from Providence College.
