Jim Komperda
Regional Executive
Jim Komperda serves as a Senior Vice President and Regional Executive in KeyBank’s Institutional Real Estate Group. Jim’s responsibilities include advising and structuring optimal capital solutions for Key’s Institutional Real Estate clients, which span public and private REITs, REOCs, private equity sponsors, and family offices. Jim has a long track record of delivering creative debt capital solutions, including the lead left role in secured and unsecured multi-billion credit facilities, structurally subordinate financings, interim bridge-to-permanent debt executions, subscription lines, and large-scale M&A acquisition financing. These executions span a variety of commercial real estate sectors, including multifamily, industrial, office, retail, net-lease, hospitality, office, and storage. In addition to client responsibilities, Jim serves as the Team Lead for the Institutional Real Estate Group’s Atlanta, Georgia office.
Jim joined Key in 2007 through Key National Bank’s rotational program, with tenures through KeyBank’s Income Property Group, Asset Recovery Group, and Real Estate Syndicated Finance. Jim was an intern with KeyBanc Capital Markets Equity Research division prior to joining the rotational program, with a specific focus on the industrial sector. Jim is a graduate of Miami (Ohio) University with a BS in Finance from the Farmer School of Business. Jim has been active in various charities, including Habitat for Humanity, and he is a 2013 graduate of the Catholic Charities of Atlanta Leadership Class. Jim is also actively involved in various youth sports organizations, volunteering time to coach and mentor young athletes. He was a 2021 graduate of the Mortgage Bankers Association Future Leaders Program. Jim also served a three-year term as a Board Member of the Real Estate Investment Advisory Council’s Southeast Chapter, a nonprofit trade association that provided a forum for the exchange of ideas and experiences among senior executives in CRE.
