Clients

We believe in building lasting relationships to support clients in reaching their major milestones.

Hear more about our commitment to clients through the videos below.

You know, one of the things that is amazing about this place is that we have clients that have been clients of the bank for a long time.

At the heart of it, it's about people.

To meet them where they are, no matter what their financial journey is.

We want to be successful and we want them to be successful.

Without our clients, there is no us.

When we're faced with a situation, my first question is always, "What's the right thing to do for the client?"

The owners of these companies, the employees of these companies that invite us to weddings and family events, that's what it means to have a relationship strategy.

And when they trust you to give the kind of advice that can enable the success of their business, it's a great feeling.

Our purpose is to help our clients and communities thrive, and that might mean helping someone buy their first house, it might mean sending their kid to college.

Unless our clients and our communities meet their goals, we can't meet our goals. We're tied at the hip.

You know, in the last few years we've dealt with a pandemic, we've dealt with a financial crisis. . . There'll be a million other things. We'll figure out how to adapt.

My favorite part is when you're sitting in front of a client and they're telling you all about their business and where they want to go next, right?

We're not looking at it as just a filling a transaction, but we're really talking about the relationship.

To know that you had a hand in really making someone's dreams come true.

I think what excites me most is that for a 200-year-old company, there's still so much opportunity in front of us.

We have a great team of people that can take care of our clients, and that's why they stay with us, generation after generation. The stories continue to grow and it's always the same: Thank you. Thank you for listening. Thank you for taking care of my needs. At the end of the day, everyone wants an opportunity and our people are delivering on that, so that's why we continue to grow. That's why we've been here 200 years.

KeyBank Clients

Ran a process and looked at a variety of potential financing partners. One of the key things that we were looking for was experience in the maritime lending space

You definitely need people that are in the space that understand the nuances to, to financinga company like ours and the Key guys are, are very good at it.

KeyBank also promised to be flexible and take a hands-on approach, which we liked. And at the end of the day, they were confident they could deliver on the terms that we were looking for.

The Pasha Group

I believe that affordable housing is the answer to the problems that we have in our community.

Our goal is to continue to provide safe, decent-quality housing for our senior population.

It's critical that projects like this project get developed so that the seniors can have enough discretionary income left over to pay for necessities like food and transportation and healthcare.

Kimpton - Partnership and Collaboration

The building, to me, affords me an opportunity to start over.

It's really nice being able to be in that apartment and, um, get my stuff together.

I know it's helped me because I've been having to live with family. So when I got approved for this place, I'm more independent.

I've lived in the sewer for 10 years in, in the darkness, and I'm finally getting out.

CHN Housing Partners – Changing Lives

Our mission is a trusted community collaborating to improve the health and wellbeing of those we serve. What we created about three years ago was a freestanding clinic. We have apartments and single-family dwellings right next to this clinic, so we're embedded in the neighborhood.

The Portland Clinic - Collaboration for Community Well-Being

KeyBank's always thinking about solutions. I think that they understand the industry and that's very helpful.

A leader in, in healthcare, and to be able to have them as a customer makes us even a stronger bank.

KeyBank has facilitated our business to be more sustainable and more growth oriented. They've made some of these things into reality more efficiently.

The Portland Clinic - Improving Health with Community Partners

Before I came to Via Sana, my whole check went on my light, my gas, my rent. Since I've been at Via Sana, I'm able to save up, to be able to come KeyBank and say, "Hey, see if y'all can help me get me my own house, to own my own house."

Via Sana - Stephanice's Story

NRP made an initiative into housing and healthcare, and so we've created a few projects across the nation partnering with hospitals to provide housing and healthcare. You're next to the healthcare community, next to primary care doctors, next to emergency room help, and really it becomes a more of a wraparound type of service, being right next to the campus.

We saw the need of helping people be part of a great community.

The day I got this phone call that I could come in and pick up my keys was the best thing that ever happened for me.

Via Sana - Building for the Community

Being homeless, not knowing when you got to go. I lost everything but the clothes I had on my back.

We need more affordable housing in this community, so people are struggling with that a lot.

NRP made an initiative into housing and healthcare, and so we've created a few projects across the nation, partnering with hospitals to provide housing and healthcare.

My new apartment is my serenity, my peace, and my home.

Via Sana - Fulfilling Needs

I lived in the sewer for 10 years and in the darkness, and I couldn't find the right tunnel to get to the light.

On any given night, over 15 years ago, there were 4-to-5,000 homeless people living on the city of streets of Cleveland.

You just have to wonder what happens to 'em. I mean, they die out there.

Using the Housing First model, we can solve chronic homelessness. We set a goal almost 15 years ago to build a thousand units of permanent supportive housing.

It takes people who would be chronically homeless, it puts them into an environment and it services their needs.

The building to me, affords me an opportunity to start over.

And I'll tell you it's, yeah, it's really nice being able to be in that apartment and get my stuff together.

Hacking in access to social services as well as behavioral health services.

I'm seeing lives rebuilt every day. I'm seeing people win in their battle with addiction.

And they come integrated and reconnected with their family and with the community, like they were prior to slipping into homelessness.

I finally found the right tunnel. I'm finally getting out.

Whenever there is something that we do, and do well and we're successful at that, we have to do it as a community.

And at the end of the day, you lift up a community, you lift up populations to really turn and become places that people can call home, safely live, and have access to work and build their families.

Affordable Housing

At AvidXchange, you know, our mission is really to help middle market companies transform how they pay their bills. And what that means, simply speaking, is we eliminate the paper invoice and the paper check.

I'm a veteran of attending the Emerging Technology Summit that, you know, KeyBank sponsors and executes each year. We were of, you know, kind of an early emerging company when we first got invited to attend over five years ago. And, uh, I think it was really insightful to us to interact with investors.

Over the years some of the investors that we met at the KeyBank Conference became investors in AvidXchange, yeah, while we were still a private company. And certainly, what it allowed us to do in making that transition to be a public company is we weren't meeting investors for the first time. We had built a relationship with many of these public company investors over many years, and they followed our progress, you know, during the Annual Emerging Technology Summit, and that really provided a great pathway for us to really evangelize our story and work with investors during our IPO that already were familiar with AvidXchange, and I think that really gave us a great advantage in executing a great IPO.

We executed our IPO on in October of 2021. I'd say the KeyBank team overall is, uh, is unique and different from lots of other banks that we interact with and, uh, even work with from time to time, from the standpoint of they really understand our business. And I think it starts by, you know, KeyBank actually resells our product to their customers, and that trickles down into how they interact with us. Uh, they really understand our business, so they're bringing us ideas on M&A, bringing us ideas on how we can better execute transactions from a treasury perspective. And then there's lots of collaboration that we have across the teams in terms of, uh, some of the, you know, even virtual card processing and how we can, you know, combine, you know, different forms of data science that our team's executing versus the KeyBank team that collectively we can be really smart in how we best deliver for our joint customers

So I would say, in terms of just, you know, domain knowledge and really knowing, um, understanding our business and our products KeyBank sets itself up, you know, really apart from everybody else that we interact with.

When Zix needed to raise a lot of capital to make the acquisition of AppRiver back in early 2019, KBCM was there for us. They were there for us with more than just money, but with business ideas to help us drive that transaction forward. They helped build a debt structure that worked not only for Zix but for our common shareholders. So they've been really been there with us, for us, with an extensive platform to support a mid-market company like Zix.

She was my banker from the beginning, and she knew I was gonna do something amazing.

I could see through her eyes her passion. I told her that like, listen, your family believes in you. I believe in you. Key believes in your success. And she was motivated by this.

My success felt to a large degree, to her, like her success.

Thinking back right now and how successful she is and, and how much she has done for the community. . . it's impressive.

Marcia's Story

I know Alina helped my mom with savings bonds and stuff like that, but I didn't know to the extent until we came in and told Alina that my mom had passed and I could see the reaction. I was like, wow. She really, really cares.

The first time when I met Penney, we had a really strong conversation about her future and she mentioned me, her family. She said, I really want to meet my daughter Lynn. I really wanted to meet Amy, my granddaughter, because I wanted to make sure they're all set and all taken care of.

Given how Alina was so close to my mom and you know, Amy and then got to meet me and know me, and now to see Penney. It just makes the whole circle, it makes the whole legacy of everything.

I can't wait to be part of, uh, that, uh, college planning for her and, and be part of her journey and who knows, maybe I'll be part of, of her kids and, and continue the legacy.
